Free tax help

   Free tax help for taxpayers with low to middle income, with special attention to those ages 60 and older.  Every Monday from February 15 to April 12 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Big Bear Valley Senior Center.  Appointment is required; sign up for an appointment at the Big Bear Valley Senior Center at 42651 Big Bear Blvd. in Big Bear Lake.  Senior Center phone is 909-584-0323.

What to bring?

• Photo identification and valid Social Security cards for the taxpayer, spouse and dependents

• Birth dates for primary, secondary and dependents on the tax return

• Prior year's tax forms and any amendments or IRS letters

• Wage and earning statement(s) Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, from all employers

• Pension (1099-R) and Social Security (SSA-1099)

• Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)

• Day care provider's name, address, identifying number and total amount paid for day care

• Landlord name, address, and phone number for Renter’s credit.

• Other relevant information about income and expenses (e.g., Real Estate Tax)

• Bank routing numbers and account numbers for direct deposit

Note: To file taxes electronically on a Married Filing Jointly tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms.
