Caltrans has started to emplace
construction area signs near Snow Valley and Big Bear Dam in preparation
for a paving project, which begins on Monday, June 30. This project will
consist of re-paving a five-mile stretch of State Route 18 from just
north of Lakeview Point to State Route 38 at Big Bear Dam.
The work hours are Monday
through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lane closures will be
necessary however; one lane will remain open during the work hours.
Traffic will be controlled with the use of a pilot car. Traffic impacts
are expected to be minimal.
There will be no construction
during the Fourth of July weekend beginning July 3rd through the 6th.
The project is expected to be complete by the end of July.
